Job Description:
Our client is seeking a HACCP Coordinator to support the facility's food safety and regulatory compliance programs by managing daily HACCP and SSOP activities, conducting internal audits, coordinating training, and verifying implementation of food safety systems on the production floor. This role works closely with Production, Sanitation, and Food Safety/Quality teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, customer expectations, and internal standards.
This is a hands‑on, floor‑focused role requiring strong HACCP knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work variable hours, including weekends as needed.
Onsite | No Visa Sponsorship
Compensation: Up to $90,000 base + 8–10% annual bonus
Relocation Assistance: Up to $5,000 + up to 30 days' temporary housing
Responsibilities:
HACCP & Food Safety Program Execution
- Conduct internal HACCP audits and support third‑party and regulatory audits.
- Participate in annual HACCP plan reassessments and update documentation as needed.
- Review daily HACCP, SSOP, and sanitation documentation for completeness and compliance.
- Track deviations, missed checks, and documentation errors; prepare summaries for leadership review.
- Monitor and verify HACCP program activities including CCP checks, documentation accuracy, and corrective action follow‑up.
Regulatory & Compliance Support
- Assist with environmental monitoring programs, including sample coordination and follow‑up.
- Maintain awareness of new or updated regulatory requirements and assist in implementing changes.
- Support regulatory inspections by providing documentation, answering program questions, and coordinating required testing.
Training & Program Communication
- Prepare and present annual food safety training materials.
- Record and distribute minutes from food safety meetings.
- Develop and deliver food safety training for supervisors, technicians, and production staff.
Production Floor Verification
- Observe process controls, sanitation practices, and CCP monitoring activities.
- Support investigations related to deviations, contamination events, or process failures.
- Spend approximately 25% of work hours on the production floor verifying implementation of food safety systems.
Operational & Administrative Support
- Assist with mock product recovery exercises and documentation.
- Maintain inventory of food safety supplies and testing materials.
- Provide coverage for FSQS roles during scheduled weekends or staff absences.
- Maintain organized records for HACCP, SSOP, sanitation, and environmental monitoring programs.
Qualifications (Must-Haves)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to interpret regulatory documents (e.g., Notices, Directives)
- Ability to work onsite with variable hours, including weekends or other shifts as needed.
- Minimum 5 years of Quality Assurance, Food Safety, or related food industry experience.
- Experience conducting or supporting internal HACCP audits, regulatory audits, or third‑party audits.
- Strong working knowledge of HACCP and SSOP regulatory requirements and hands‑on implementation.
- HACCP certification (Basic and Advanced HACCP through a HACCP Alliance Certified program) or ability to obtain certification.
Preferred Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a related field.
- Experience delivering food safety training or supporting environmental monitoring programs.
- Experience in FSIS‑regulated or high‑risk food manufacturing environments (meat, poultry, RTE, or processed foods)
Physical & Work Environment Requirements:
- Work performed in both office and production floor settings.
- Ability to walk production floors, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 25 lbs. as needed.
- Exposure to cold/hot environments and manufacturing areas requiring PPE (hearing protection, safety glasses, etc.)
