Job Description:
Our client is seeking a senior‑level Lead Data Scientist to drive enterprise analytics strategy, lead cross‑functional initiatives, and deliver executive‑ready insights that shape organizational decision‑making. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong leadership, and hands‑on experience working with complex healthcare datasets, including EPIC (Clarity, Cogito, Reporting, Data Models).
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and a hands‑on builder someone who can design advanced machine learning solutions, mentor data science talent, and translate sophisticated analytics into clear, actionable recommendations for A‑C level leaders.

Responsibilities:
Advanced Analytics & Machine Learning
- Build datasets from large, complex, and incomplete data sources.
- Build, validate, deploy, and maintain advanced ML and statistical models.
- Diagnose and resolve data quality issues; enhance data pipelines and processes.
- Evaluate emerging tools, technologies, and vendors to support analytics strategy.
- Analyze structured and unstructured data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities.
Enterprise Leadership
- Lead high‑visibility analytics and data science initiatives with enterprise‑wide impact.
- Present insights, recommendations, and model outputs to senior leadership (A‑C suite)
- Collaborate with business, clinical, operational, and IT stakeholders to define requirements and deliver solutions.
Mentorship & Technical Guidance
- Mentor and coach junior data scientists.
- Provide code reviews, best practices, and technical leadership across the analytics team.
Qualifications (Must-Haves)
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field.
- Advanced SQL proficiency (3–4/5+)
- Active AWS Certification (required)
- 7+ years of professional data science experience.
- Proven experience leading analytics or data science projects.
- Strong programming skills in Python or R (3–4/5 proficiency)
- Experience with healthcare, EHR, or clinical/operational datasets.
- EPIC experience required: Clarity, Reporting, Data Models, or Cogito.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts to A‑C level executives.
- Ability to operate independently in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary environment.
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Strong statistical foundation: hypothesis testing, A/B testing, modeling, distributions.
- Hands‑on experience building custom ML models (beyond exploratory analytics)
Preferred Skills:
- Master's degree in Data Science or related field.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other visualization tools.
- Experience with GenAI/LLM initiatives (RAG, embeddings, fine‑tuning)
- Experience improving data pipelines, ETL processes, or data architecture.
- Background in healthcare analytics, medical informatics, or revenue cycle data.
