Job Description:

Our client is seeking an experienced Shipping Superintendent to oversee shipping, receiving, materials handling, and warehouse operations in a refrigerated production environment. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate inventory flow, safe forklift operations, employee engagement, and consistent execution of FIFO and load‑time standards. You'll lead a team, drive process improvements, and maintain high standards of productivity, quality, and plant safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Support employee engagement, labor relations, and team accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, plant safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Lead daily shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accurate, timely movement of materials and finished goods.
  • Oversee FIFO execution, load‑time performance, and inventory accuracy across all warehouse activities.
  • Partner with the safety team to maintain and enforce powered industrial equipment safety programs.
  • Communicate inbound/outbound issues with production, scheduling, and warehouse teams to maintain operational flow.
  • Maintain and improve the powered industrial equipment program, including training, compliance, and documentation.
  • Develop and implement training plans aligned with company goals and operational needs.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, and warehouse efficiency.
  • Work effectively in a refrigerated warehouse environment, including freezer exposure as needed.

Qualifications/Must-Haves:

  • Ability to work onsite full‑time and perform occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs.)
  • Strong communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
  • 3+ years of progressive leadership experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations within manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of FIFO, load‑time management, inventory accuracy, and materials handling processes.
  • Hands‑on experience supporting or managing powered industrial equipment safety programs.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, drive engagement, and hold employees accountable.
  • Experience working in food manufacturing, refrigerated environments, or similar regulated settings (preferred)
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
