Job Description:
Our client is seeking an Engineer V (PE – Electrical/Power) to lead high‑impact electrical engineering initiatives across large‑scale industrial energy operations. This role provides enterprise‑level technical leadership, advanced power systems expertise, and oversight of electrical reliability, standards, and compliance.
You will serve as a subject matter expert supporting project execution, technical services, and electrical system performance across multiple assets. This position requires deep experience in industrial electrical systems within natural gas, pipeline, refinery, or petrochemical environments.

Requirements:
- Lead complex engineering projects with major business impact, serving as the responsible PE for electrical engineering deliverables.
- Perform and review advanced power system studies, including short‑circuit, arc flash, load flow, harmonics, motor starting, voltage drop, and protective device coordination.
- Provide technical leadership on electrical design, maintenance strategies, and reliability best practices for HV/MV systems.
- Develop and implement electrical standards, specifications, and engineering practices (e.g., grounding, electrical area classification)
- Conduct root cause analysis and drive improvements in electrical system reliability and preventive maintenance programs.
- Evaluate engineering packages for compliance with codes, standards, and project objectives.
- Diagnose complex electrical issues and provide expert guidance to field engineers and operations teams.
- Ensure strict adherence to OSHA, NEC, NFPA, IEEE, API, DOT, and internal safety policies.
- Support enterprise‑level decision‑making by interpreting technical risks, ROI considerations, and system performance impacts.
- Deliver technical presentations and represent the organization in an official engineering capacity as a licensed PE.
Qualifications/Must-Haves:
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical/Power must be able to sign and seal engineering work.
- 20+ years of engineering experience in natural gas, pipeline, petrochemical, or refinery environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Engineering Technology accepted with active PE)
- Proven expertise in HV/MV industrial electrical systems and power system analysis tools (ETAP, EasyPower, or equivalent)
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA, NEC, NFPA, IEEE, API, and DOT standards.
- Demonstrated leadership in high‑risk, high‑visibility engineering projects.
- Experience developing PM programs, conducting RCAs, and improving electrical system reliability.
- Project management experience in large industrial environments.
- Experience mentoring engineers and supporting multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong organizational, communication, and technical reporting skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
