Customs Analyst – Import/Export Compliance

Job Description:

Our client is seeking an experienced Customs Analyst to support daily import and export compliance activities across multiple U.S. locations. This role focuses on reviewing broker documentation, validating customs filings, analyzing ACE data, and investigating discrepancies related to HTS classification, country of origin, part numbers, and supplier information. The analyst will coordinate corrective actions with brokers and internal stakeholders and provide periodic reporting on customs activity and issue resolution.

Work Schedule: 7:00AM–3:00PM

Work Model: Hybrid (4 days onsite, 1 day remote)

Responsibilities:

  • Review daily broker files, entry packets, and ACE data for import and export shipments.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support trade compliance and customs operations.
  • Support import/export transactions by preparing, validating, and maintaining required documentation.
  • Audit customs filings for accuracy and identify required corrections, missing documentation, or additional broker actions.
  • Prepare recurring reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and external partners, including weekly business reviews.
  • Perform targeted investigations based on requests from Sales, Purchasing, and other internal groups; summarize findings and recommended actions.
  • Conduct data‑mining and root‑cause investigations related to HTS classification, part numbers, supplier data, country of origin, and other customs discrepancies.
  • Support post‑entry and post‑filing activities, including monitoring corrective actions, resolving data discrepancies, and coordinating meetings to close investigations.

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

  • Proficiency with customs/trade systems, broker portals, and standard reporting tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally with brokers, internal departments, and external partners.
  • Experience conducting customs audits, discrepancy investigations, and coordinating corrective actions.
  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience managing import and export shipments across multiple global regions.
  • Strong working knowledge of: HTS Classification, Country‑of‑Origin Determination, Broker Filings and Entry Documentation and ACE (Automated Commercial Environment) Data Review.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working in multi‑site or enterprise‑level import/export operations.
  • Familiarity with SAP GTS, Descartes, Integration Point, or similar trade‑compliance platforms
  • Background in manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, or other global supply‑chain environments.
