Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Die Setter with strong powder metal and press operation expertise to support first‑shift production in a high‑precision manufacturing environment. This role is hands‑on, safety‑driven, and critical to maintaining quality and throughput on the shop floor.

Contract Duration: 6 months | Contract-to-Hire (based on performance and business needs) | W2
Work Schedule: 7:00AM–3:00PM
Responsibilities:
- Operate and adjust Cincinnati 550‑ton mechanical/hydraulic presses.
- Inspect compacted parts for dimensional accuracy, density, and weight.
- Monitor parts after the delube oven and make adjustments as needed.
- Identify defects or equipment issues; stop production when necessary.
- Maintain accurate production records (output, scrap, adjustments, issues)
- Complete tooling survey sheets and support rework/sorting activities.
- Perform daily 5S and participate in PMs and improvement initiatives.
- Calibrate press settings (pressure, compaction speed, dwell time) to meet part specifications.
- Install, set up, and troubleshoot tooling, including die cavities, punches, and core rods.
- Support maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Qualifications/Must Haves:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Powder metal experience (required)
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T.
- Hands-on experience with Cincinnati 550‑ton presses.
- Mechanical/hydraulic press operation for powdered metal compacting.
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
- Knowledge of forging presses, die setup, material flow, and basic robot interaction.
- Proficiency with inspection tools (micrometers, hardness testers, CMM)
- Ability to work 1st shift onsite and support weekend work as needed.
Nice-to-Haves:
- 5+ years powder metal compacting.
- Manufacturing experience in metal forging.
- Familiarity with metallurgical properties of ferrous and non‑ferrous powders.
