Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Controller to lead all site‑level accounting, financial reporting, and FP&A activities. This role is highly visible, partnering closely with site leadership and corporate finance to ensure accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and continuous improvement across financial processes.

Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Oversee inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and cost controls.
- Manage month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes.
- Prepare financial statements, compliance reports, and regulatory filings.
- Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, cost accounting, and financial reporting.
FP&A & Budgeting
- Prepare ad hoc financial reports and decisions support analysis.
- Own budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
- Analyze actuals vs. budget/forecast and provide insights into site and corporate leadership.
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Maintain strong internal controls and support SOX‑related processes.
- Assist with internal and external audits and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure adherence to corporate policies and site‑level procedures.
Capital Projects & Systems
- Track capital project spending and manage fixed asset capitalization.
- Support ERP system selection, implementation, and optimization.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across financial workflows.
Cross‑Functional Leadership
- Communicate risks, issues, and opportunities proactively.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold high ethical standards.
- Partner with site managers, operations, and corporate teams to support financial decision‑making.
Qualifications/Must Haves:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work onsite in the United States.
- Accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Smooth ERP implementation and adoption.
- Hands‑on experience with ERP system implementation.
- Knowledge of IFRS, tax, and transfer pricing concepts.
- Strong partnership with site and corporate leadership.
- Improved financial processes, systems, and controls.
- Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting systems.
- Strong background in accounting, financial reporting, and FP&A.
- Strong understanding of internal controls and SOX‑related processes.
- Effective oversight of budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
- 5+ years of financial leadership experience in mining, industrial, or manufacturing environments.
- All education levels will be considered; equivalent practical experience is fully acceptable.
Nice-to-Have:
- CPA designation (preferred but not required)
- Experience in a public company environment.
- Exposure to construction project accounting, agile/lean practices, or mining operations.
