Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Press Production Supervisor to lead a high‑performance team in a fast‑paced, high‑volume manufacturing environment. This role is the first-line leader for the stamping press department, responsible for daily production execution, safety leadership, team development, and continuous improvement.

Work Schedule: Friday–Sunday, 5:00AM–5:00PM (Weekend Day Shift) | Occasional additional workdays as needed

Requirements:

Safety Leadership

  • Champion a safety‑first culture and enforce all safety policies.
  • Ensure all team members receive proper safety training and use required PPE.
  • Conduct safety audits, lead incident investigations, and correct unsafe behaviors or conditions.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Manage attendance, conduct, and policy adherence.
  • Train, mentor, and cross‑train operators and technicians.
  • Model servant leadership by coaching, supporting, and empowering team members.
  • Serve as first point of contact for employee relations issues and interface with union stewards when needed.

Production Oversight

  • Assign work, monitor workflow, and optimize manpower and machine utilization.
  • Supervise all stamping press operations to meet production targets, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
  • Troubleshoot issues quickly to minimize downtime and maintain continuous production flow.

Continuous Improvement

  • Encourage team-driven improvement ideas to enhance throughput and efficiency.
  • Lead and participate in Lean/CI initiatives including 5S, Kaizen, and waste reduction.
  • Analyze downtime, scrap, and bottlenecks; implement corrective actions with quality, maintenance, and engineering teams.

Reporting & Communication

  • Maintain accurate production, quality, and safety records.
  • Report KPIs to management and communicate issues promptly.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve tooling, maintenance, and quality concerns.

Qualifications/Must-Haves:

  • Ability to stand for long periods, bend/stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • 1–3+ years of supervisory experience in a high‑volume, fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supervising stamping press operations or similar heavy manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrated servant leadership approach with strong coaching and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, or related field preferred (equivalent experience accepted)

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in unionized manufacturing environments.
  • Prior involvement in CI initiatives (5S, Kaizen, Lean)
  • Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills under time pressure.
