Job Description:

Our client is seeking an experienced Diesel Technician to join a small, high‑performing team. This first‑shift role offers steady work, a supportive environment, and ongoing technical training with no nights or weekends. The ideal candidate is a self‑directed technician with strong diagnostic skills and hands‑on experience performing major repairs on diesel engines and heavy‑duty trucks.

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:30AM–4:30PM or 8:00AM–5:00PM


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct road tests when needed to verify repairs.
  • Participate in ongoing technical training and skill development.
  • Maintain an organized workflow and follow all safety procedures.
  • Document all work performed and recommended services in accordance with shop standards.
  • Perform diagnostics and repairs on heavy‑duty diesel trucks following OEM and industry standards.
  • Install and replace injectors, pistons, liners, cylinder heads, bearings, oil pans, and other components.
  • Complete major component repairs including engines, transmissions, differentials, clutches, and related assemblies.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, driveline components, steering, suspension, and brake systems (air & hydraulic)

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to use computer‑based diagnostic tools.
  • Strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Personal tool set appropriate for heavy‑duty repair work.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical training preferred.
  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience with diesel engines and heavy‑duty trucks.
  • Experience with engines, transmissions, driveline, steering, suspension, and brake systems.

Preferred Skills:

  • ASE certifications.
  • EPA 608/609 certification.
  • OEM training or certifications.
  • Experience with major engine platforms (e.g., Cummins, International, or similar)
