Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Product Design Engineer with strong full‑lifecycle product development experience. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys taking products from concept through production, solving complex mechanical challenges, and creating manufacturable, high‑quality designs. You will work hands‑on with prototypes, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and play a key role in launching new products.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and source components to support production requirements.
  • Apply engineering analysis including tolerancing, precision design, and FEA.
  • Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Support creation of technical instructions, documentation, and visual assets for product launches.
  • Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, drawings, and engineering documentation using SolidWorks.
  • Design injection‑molded, sheet‑metal, and fabricated components with strong DFM/DFMA principles.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure successful product introduction.
  • Lead product development from concept, modeling, and prototyping through testing and production release.

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of design principles, tolerances, and FEA.
  • 5+ years of hands‑on SolidWorks experience (3D modeling, assemblies, drawings)
  • Demonstrated ability to take a product from concept through production‑ready design.
  • Proven experience designing injection‑molded, sheet‑metal, and/or fabricated components.
  • 5+ years of mechanical design and product development experience in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with rapid prototyping or DFM/DFMA practices.
  • Familiarity with testing, validation, or reliability engineering.
  • Experience with consumer products or high‑volume manufacturing.
