Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Night Shift Shredder Lead to oversee nightly shredder operations and lead a crew of 9 employees. This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for equipment operation, workflow direction, safety enforcement, and production performance.
The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, experience with industrial machinery, and the ability to lead a team with structure, clarity, and accountability.

Work Shift: Monday–Thursday, 5:30PM–3:30AM (10‑hour shifts)
Requirements:
Shredder Operations
- Operate and monitor industrial shredding equipment.
- Ensure proper material flow and prevent contamination.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic troubleshooting.
- Minimize downtime and report mechanical issues promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area following 5S standards.
Team Leadership
- Lead and direct a crew of 9 night‑shift employees.
- Assign tasks and manage workflow to meet nightly production goals.
- Hold team members accountable for safety, quality, and productivity.
- Train new operators and reinforce standard operating procedures.
- Communicate effectively with day‑shift leadership during shift handoff.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure proper PPE usage at all times.
- Enforce OSHA and company safety protocols.
- Addresses unsafe behavior immediately and professionally.
- Maintain a secure and controlled production environment.
Production Tracking
- Assist with accurate material and load documentation.
- Monitor nightly throughput, downtime, and material output.
- Document production numbers and report issues to management.
Qualifications/Must-Haves:
- Forklift experience preferred.
- Previous lead‑hand or team‑lead experience preferred.
- Experience operating shredders, conveyors, or heavy machinery.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and work in a fast‑paced industrial environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude; ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
- 2–5 years of experience in recycling, manufacturing, or industrial operations.
- All education levels will be considered; equivalent practical experience is fully acceptable.
